The 2021 Melbourne Cup looks one of the more intriguing cups we have seen in years with the Australian bred Toowoomba winner, now Caulfield Cup winner Incentivise comfortably heading the market. He has drawn barrier 16 for the feature.

Spanish Mission comes from overseas with Stardivarius form lines, including defeating him in the Ascot Gold Cup when placing third to superstar Subjectivist. With even luck, he can win from barrier 14.

Grand Promenade (barrier 21) was dominant in The Bart Cummings and looks a natural staying type with a light weight, and he beat home Tralee Rose (barrier 12) in that event who subsequently won the Geelong Cup.

Last year's winner Twilight Payment (barrier two) is back for more glory, but will have to lump the top weight of 58kg while Australian mare Verry Elleegant (barrier 19) is all class and could be looking for this extra journey.

The race does not end there with plenty of chances looking for a spot inside the top five, but it does look a race in two as for the main chances in the Melbourne Cup.

A final field of 24 has been assembled for the 2021 Melbourne Cup.
