He is unlikely to be seen in an Everest, which means this weaker Group One WFA race over 1200m could be his chance to show his strength over six furlongs.

He has been dynamic in Sydney, winning the Rosebud and San Domenico over 1100m, and will now tackle the Group One Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley.

There is a lot of pace in that race, so the 1200m Manikato may be more up his alley if he can hold his form between now and then.

If he is to win the Moir, he will be odds on to win the Manikato which is more than half of his current quote.

The team will likely aim to tackle and Everest once again, and although he finished third in that race last season, he is not one of the first horses that come to mind when thinking of premiere sprinters.

He ran very well in a Moir last year before tackling the Schillaci which helped him gain entry into the race.

If he is not to gain a spot this year, he could well be the horse to beat in the Manikato.

He gets around Moonee Valley well enough, and without the best sprinters in Australia in the race, he becomes the benchmark of the race.

He won the Bobbie Lewis last weekend and will now likely tackle the Gilgai as he did last preparation.

If he can win or run well in that, we know he is up to Group One standard, so this race could well be his chance to claim the glory he deserves.

We know he is best suited at Flemington with his career best performances coming down the straight, but he was placed second in the Oakleigh Plate over 1100m at Caulfield and should get a genuine tempo that would suit him around the Valley, if he were to come here.

At $21, there are worse bets in the race.
