I'm Thunderstruck is a five-year-old gelding by Melbourne Cup winner Shocking, who has amassed more than $6 million in career earnings and is trained by Victorian partnership Mick Price & Michael Kent Jr.
Owned and raced by OTI Racing, his career highlights include a win in the Group One Toorak Handicap and a win in the $5 million Golden Eagle, while he has been placed at the top level on multiple occassions in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes, All-Star Mile, Doncaster Handicap & Memsie Stakes.
Why I'm Thunderstruck is our top selection
Off the back of his second placing in the Memsie Stakes (1400m), he just has to be the top pick now getting to the Flemington mile, although the inside barrier just does cause come map issues.
When last seen over this track and trip, he was placed second to arguably Australia's best horse in Zaaki in the All-Star Mile, flying home prior to running second in a Doncaster Handicap.
I have always had good opinion I'm Thunderstruck and given he essentially races everything he comfortably beat in the Memsie, he does pick himself.
