Kingston Town Classic Tips 2020
Kingston Town Classic 2020 Best Bet - Inspirational Girl
This daughter of Reliable Man has worked through the grades with relative ease (nine wins from 11 starts) and following her first black-type win via the Group Three Asian Beau Stakes on October 31, was dominant in the Railway Stakes.
After being backed as if unbeatable late ($3.50-$2.60), she saluted like a good thing should after threading her passage through under William Pike and exploded over the final 150m whilst from that, our best bet actually meets many of those in the top 10 two kilos better off with the mares allowance here.
From the Railway Stakes, I can't make a case for anything turning the tables on Inspirational Girl who is heavily favored to be just the fifth runner in history to complete the Railway Stakes/Kingston Town Classic winning double.
Kingston Town Classic 2020 Next Best Bet - Dom To Shoot
If there is a threat to the favourite, it most probably comes from the three-year-old crop and they've had a very good record in recent years with both Arcadia Queen (2018) and Kay Cee (2019) winning this feature down in the weights.
Whether the 5kg advantage is enough for Dom To Shoot to roll Inspirational Girl is a query, however, his Guineas lead-up performance is quite similar to that of Kay Cee's in 2019 and on November 21, he was luckless against the pattern in the 2020 edition which he wins with a better gate.
Unfortunately for this gelding, he just hasn't been able to draw a barrier this spring but with more luck in that regard on Saturday, can get a smother much closer in the run and be produced late.
Kingston Town Classic 2020 Roughie - Trap For Fools
Although much less favored than his younger half-brother Too Close The Sun in the early markets and rightfully so, Trap For Fools is a proven weight-for-age performer and his last two competitive performances have come when racing on the fresh side.
Whilst he doesn't handle wet tracks, the Group One Underwood Stakes effort to kick-off his spring campaign was certainly a pass mark where he continued to whack away late but just didn't have the conditions to suit or brilliance to threaten a win on that occasion.
His last two performances were admittedly quite plain although his latest was on a Soft 7 in the Moonee Valley Cup when well backed late ($10.00-$7.00) and fresh here with a strong November 20 hitout under his belt, I wouldn't be suprised if Trap For Fools gave a sight and pinched a top three or four finish at a big price.
