Think About It (barrier 8) is one of the most exciting gallopers in Australia and under WFA conditions via the Kingsford-Smith Cup, the four-year-old will face his biggest test to date.

The son of So You Think has been very impressive, winning seven from eights starts and that includes a terriic return win at Gosford where he covered ground, yet still proved too strong with topweight of 58kg in the Takeover Target Stakes.

Joe Pride also prepares veteran sprinter Eduardo (barrier 5), a nine-year-old that arrives first-up from The Galaxy and he was scratched from the Doomben 10,000 due to a wide barrier.

Rothfire (barrier 7) is a five-time stakes winner that has earned over $2 million in prize money and the Robert Heathcote-trained gelding returned to winning form with a second-up victory in the Group 2 Victory Stakes on April 29.

A Case Of You (barrier 6) has found the line strongly in three Australian outings and the extra 100m of the Kingsford-Smith Cup looks ideal for the five-year-old.

Now under the care of Mick Price & Michael Kent (Jnr), the import recorded Group 1 wins in the United Arab Emirates and France when prepared by Adrian McGuinness.

Godolphin entire Paulele (barrier 16) is looking to add a second Group 1 to his resume, with the 2022 Winterbottom Stakes winner set to stand at stud this year.

He'll be joined by Vilana (barrier 13), a four-year-old stablemate that been well held in both Group 1 attempts to date.

A capacity field of 16 (plus three emergencies) make up the final field for the 2023 Kingsford-Smith Cup, a weight-for-age 1300m feature at Eagle Farm that was previously run as the BTC Cup.

Kingsford-Smith Cup Winners

The Kingsford Smith Cup was formerly known as the BTC Cup, with the race name changed in 2017.

In 2006, the race gained Group 1 status and from 1991 to 2016, this sprint was always over 1200m before the recent increase to 1300m.

The Bostonian (2019), Vega One (2021) and Apache Chase (2022) have won the last three editions of the Kingsford-Smith Cup, which was not contested in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This feature has received a prize money increase in 2023, with this year's edition worth $1 million in total (up from $700,000).
