Leading Hong Kong sprinter Lucky Sweynesse will be looking to atone for an unlucky defeat as favourite in last year's Group 1 Hong Kong Sprint, where the gelding was beaten as a $1.90 chance.

A three-time Group 1 winner, the five-year-old has been a model of consistency in 2023, recording seven wins and two seconds from nine starts in this calendar year.

At $2 with Neds, Lucky Sweynesse heads the market for the 2023 Hong Kong Sprint, while 2022 Hong Kong Sprint winner Wellington ($5) sits on the second line of betting.

The four-time Group 1 winner has completed one rune since a Royal Ascot flop back in June and that was a one-length defeat in third via the Jockey Club Sprint on November 19, which is a key lead-up to the Hong Kong Sprint.

Highfield Princess ($6) rounds out the single-figure chances in the 2023 Hong Kong Sprint, a European mare who has won 12 races from 25 starts.

Four Group 1 victories are among those triumphs, which includes a last-start win in the Prix De L'abbaye De Longchamp Longines on October 1.
