This $1 million major has become a focus especially for colts looking to enhance their stallion credentials with modern era winners in Epaulette, Zoustar, Exosphere, Trapeze Artist and The Autumn Sun now making their name at stud.

Star Godolphin colt Anamoe heads the betting for the 2021 Golden Rose, with $1.90 currently available with bookmaker.com.au

Golden Rose 2021 Tips

Golden Rose 2021 Best Bet - Anamoe

Off just the one soft trial and a slight setback, the market was happy to take this Godolphin colt on first-up, but he simply just proved too classy in The Run To The Rose, despite having a stack of upside still to come.

In an ideal scenario, they'd have preferred gate five or six, although barrier eight sees James McDonald stay out of trouble as especially with at least a few lengths improvement predicted here, bad luck does look his main worry.

The most exciting three-year-old in the country, not only does both the Golden Rose and Caulfield Guineas look well within his grasp, but Anamoe could well be the biggest threat to Zaaki and Verry Elleegant in the Cox Plate later this spring.

Golden Rose 2021 Value Bet - Jamaea

While I'm suspect overall on the three-year-old fillies of this crop, all you can do is win and barring a very unlucky return in the Silver Shadow, this girl has won group races either side of that August 21 performance.

Jamaea swooped from the rear when claiming the Furious Stakes on September 4 and rather than stick on with the fillies via last week's Tea Rose Stakes, Robert & Luke Price have elected to take on the boys over 1400m.

The form was franked in last week's Group Two and while she's yet to be tested at seven furlongs, the daughter of Headwater has shown a better turn-of-foot than most of these rivals to date, especially on good ground which she'll get on Saturday.

Golden Rose 2021 Roughie - Startantes

If it wasn't for injury, Rob Heathcote would've prepared Rothfire to victory in last year's Golden Rose and despite there being seemingly much more easier options around, connections have opted to pay the $37,500 to gain a start here.

Following just an even run first-up, the blinkers were applied to Startantes and they've made a big effect, with the three-year-old recording a winning hat-trick in Brisbane which includes a victory over Alpine Edge, who was unlucky in the Caulfield Guineas Prelude.

After being held-up and then asked to sprint following a chequered path in that August 28 triumph, she should've won that by further and looking to drop out early, Regan Bayliss will be aiming for a tow into it off the favourite and come late with Artorius.
