Best Of Bordeaux opened his career with back-to-back wins at group level prior to a runner-up finish in the Golden Slipper.

The premier colt of season 2021/2022 heads the the Golden Rose betting with bet365, where he shares an $8 quote with Fireburn, the best performed two-year-old of this season.

After brilliant victories in the Golden Slipper and Sires' Produce, the daughter of Rebel Dane just fell short of the Sydney two-year-old triple crown, with a narrow Champagne Stakes loss to She's Extreme ($11).

Both leading filles (Fireburn and She's Extreme) excelled on wet ground throughout the Sydney Autumn Carnival.

Coolangatta ($13) sits on the fourth line of betting, with the Maher & Eustace filly shading Daumier, Jacquinot, Semillion and Promitto (all $17).

Golden Rose Winners

First being run and won in 1978, this feature was originally known as the Peter Pan Stakes after the dual Melbourne Cup winner, but was renamed the Golden Rose after its grading was dropped from Group Two to an 'Unlisted' affair despite a prize money increase to $1 million.

This major was upgraded to a Group One event in 2009 and since then has become a stallion making race which is evident with recent winners that includes Zoustar, Exosphere, Trapeze Artist, The Autumn Sun and Ole Kirk who are all well in demand and popular in the current breeding climate.

Bivouac (2019), Ole Kirk (2020) and In The Congo (2021) have won the last three editions of the Golden Rose.
