After Winx won four consecutive runnings of the George Ryder Stakes, Dreamforce (2020), Think It Over (2021), Forbidden Love (2022) and Anamoe (2023) have taken out the last four editions of this WFA feature.

2024 George Ryder Stakes Best Bet - Veight
I'm not so sure that Veight didn't run out a mile in the Australian Guineas, as he only found one better and that winner did have a softer run in transit via that Group 1.
That said, the McEvoy might simply be more effective over shorter journeys and along with getting that here over 1500m, his tactical speed should also be more beneficial at Rosehill.
Gun hoop Damian Lane stays aboard the son of Grunt and from barrier eight without a stack of speed drawn to his inside, they can comfortably settle in the first few pairs.
Veight has already had the benefit of a Sydney trip, having contested last year's Sires' at the end of his first prep and in what's an open George Ryder Stakes, he makes each-way appeal.
Although he wasn't able to salute as favourite when returning in the Group 1 Canterbury Stakes, Think About It lost no admirers in his most recent fresh assignment.
The Joe Pride-trained five-year-old finished second after working wide from off the speed during that 1300m feature and he'll only strip fitter from that return outing.
With 11 wins and three placings from 14 starts, the gelding already has a terrific record and after a focus on the sprinting caper, connections are looking to stretch him over more ground.
While untested at 1500m, he ran out a strong 1400m when taking out last year's Stradbroke Handicap and despite the draw/map, I don't want to be losing on Think About It here.
A Group 1 placed European, this Australian Bloodstock import appeared forward enough for his Down Under debut in the Liverpool Stakes going off his lead-up work at Cranbourne.
While it was a pass mark for Kovalica, who clearly needs more ground, this Ciaron Maher-trained gelding showed a much stronger turn-of-foot in that 1300m contest.
He'll be right down in the weights for a Doncaster Mile, which seems to be the target assignment in a fortnight, although he's in the mix here off that promising Australian debut.
The barrier gods haven't helped him here, as he had shown tactical speed on occasions when campaigning in Europe, but New Energy is versatile and he should be included.
