The Doomben 10,000 is the first Group 1 of the 2023 Brisbane Winter Carnival and this feature has received a prize money boost, with the WFA sprint now worth $1.5 million in total (up from $1 million).

Giga Kick (barrier 4) is a huge drawcard for this Queensland major, with the three-year-old one of Australia's best gallopers and he arrives off his first Group 1 victory via the All Aged Stakes.

Saturday's Doomben 10,000 attempt will be just the tenth career start for the Clayton Douglas-trained gelding.

Aft Cabin (barrier 3) is another exciting three-year-old in the final field, with the son of Astern relishing the drop to 1200m via the Group 2 Arrowfield Sprint.

The subsequent Listed Mick Dittman quinella (Lady Laguna and Swiss Exile) has come from that April 8 event.

Godolphin have also accepted with Vilana (barrier 1), a four-year-old that returned with a victory in the Group Hall Mark Stakes on April 15 after a failed short campaign in the west last December.

This will be the second Group 1 attempt for the James Cummings-trained entire, who rounded his three-year-old season in the Stradbroke Handicap.

Overpass (barrier 10) headed west and upset star WA filly Amelia's Jewel in the inaugural running of The Quokka on April 15

His last four victories have come over 1200m and the Doomben circuit should suit the on-pacer.

Last year's Doomben 10,000 winner Mazu (barrier 7) is suited back in trip after being well held behind Giga Kick in the All Aged Stakes, and veteran sprinter Eduardo (barrier 11) is another past Doomben 10,000 winner in the final field.

Prince Of Boom (barrier 5), Weona Smartone (barrier 6) and Centrefire (barrier 2) make up the local representation, while The Galaxy winner Mariamia (barrier 8) and two-time Group 1 winning import A Case Of You (barrier 9) have also headed north for this feature.
