A typically competitive field has been assembled for the Doncaster Mile, with last year's winner Mr Brightside (barrier 2) among the acceptances.
The Ben & JD Hayes-trained gelding recorded his first Group 1 win via the 2022 Doncaster Mile, while with strong efforts in the CF Orr and Futurity Stakes ahead of his last start All-Star Mile victory, the five-year-old is arguably going better than he was 12 months ago.
Mr Brightside has to carry 55.5kg (up from 50.5kg last year).
Five-time Group 1 winner Alligator Blood (barrier 12) has the topweight of 57.5kg, with the five-year-old looking to bounce back off a fourth in the All-Star Mile, where he was clearly the pick of the on-speed brigade.
Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott also train 2022 Randwick Guineas winner Converge (barrier 6), a son of Frankel that has improved off a disappointing spring campaign.
Chris Waller has a strong hand, preparing Fangirl (barrier 19), Going Global (barrier 4), Zougotcha (barrier 13), Lindermann (barrier 18) and Osipenko (barrier one), with the latter being the first emergency.
Both Fangirl and Zougotcha were sinlge figure chances prior to Tuesday's barrier draw.
20 runners (plus four emergencies) make up the final field for the 2023 Doncaster Mile.
