The 2022 Caulfield Guineas market has been released with Neds, run over 1600m at Caulfield at Group One level.
The race has copped a knock over the last seven-days with Golden Rose winner Jacquinot being kept to the sprint trips while Aft Cabin bled and will be rested.
That leaves the second colt home in the Golden Rose, Golden Mile ($4.20) as the favourite. He is bred to run a strong mile and is the starting point on Sydney form.
Exford Plate winner Berkeley Square ($4.80) looks the best of the Victorian horses, looking as if the mile and further looks right up his alley.
Amenable, Tijuana and Zou Tiger are the best of the double figure chances at $11, while Bank Maur and Meridius look the only other two main chances at $13.

Caulfield Guineas History
One of the oldest Group One races in Melbourne history, the Caulfield Guineas was first run in 1881.
Originally run at Flemington during the War-time period, the Caulfield Guineas has since made its home at Caulfield and it has been the crowning achievement for numerous stallions which have gone on to have lucrative stud careers.
A mile journey since its inception, the Caulfield Guineas was given Group 1 status in 1979, when many of Australia’s top races became Group 1 level. That year, it was taken out by Runaway Kid after Manikato had won the year prior.
Known as a stallion-making race, the Guineas has been won by many of Australia’s best stallions, including the likes of All Too Hard, Lonhro and Redoute’s Choice.
It’s a good race for future betting guides, including the Victoria Derby. Caulfield Guineas winners have gone on to win the Derby on 16 occasions, but the most recent came in 2002 with Helenus.
