The 2022 Caulfield Cup is one of the 'big three' majors run over the Melbourne Spring Carnival, a race which often sees the winner head to the Melbourne Cup.
Smokin' Romans (barrier five) brings the benchmark form into the race, winning the Group One Turnbull Stakes (2000m) with ease last start and now dropping to just 51.5kg in this race.
Benaud (barrier 20) comes through the Might And Power last year where he was very strong through the line, while Nonconformist (barrier 15) comes through the same event.
Duais (barrier nine) has been aimed at this race all spring while Gold Trip (barrier 12) did enough in the Turnbull last start behind Smokin' Romans.
Knight's Order (barrier 18) will bowl along in front once again and Alegron (barrier 14) looks to continue the magnificent Godolphin run from last week.

After being opened for international competitors in 1998, there have been a number of international winners, including Kiwi pair Let's Elope and Mongolian Khan, Dunaden, Best Solution and Japanese stars Admire Rakti & Mer De Glace.
Legendary trainer Bart Cummings holds the record with seven winners, most notably Ming Dynasty, which scored two Caulfield Cup wins.
