Run over 1600m, the 2020 Cantala Stakes has gotten a lot more interesting after the announcement of three-time Group One place getter Wichita could be on the plane over for the mile event.
Cascadian looks as if he will relish the mile this prep, while a horse such as Superstorm arguably should have won the Rupert Clarke, but will have the temptation to head to Sydney for the Golden Eagle instead.

The obvious class of the race, Wichita will likely be on the plane over to Australia for the Cantala Stakes run over one mile.
A 2000 Guineas runner-up, boasts another two Group One placings, as well as being a last start winner of the Group Two Park Stakes at Doncaster.
He will likely carry the top weight in the race if he was to run, but our handicap milers are not a high grade of horse, which leaves this horse who is a legitimate Group One horse on top.

The big, spacious track tends to suit those horse with large strides which is exactly what this horse has, so if he can draw a gate, expect him to be in the finish.
Cantala Stakes 2020 Roughie - Star of The Seas
He is one of the favourites for an Epsom Handicap, and after two WFA Group One placings, he looks well suited in that event.
But, he struggles to win against the stronger horses which may leave him running another placing in that race, so if that is the case, he is in this with a monster chance.
He can reel off some great closing sectionals and although great on soft ground, he handles firm decks as we saw in the George Main with another placing.
If he does not win the Epsom, expect him to start nearly favourite in this event.
