He has been my top selection for this race prior to his debut run and from what I saw last start in the Prelude, there is no reason to drop off.
Jacquinot was slow away and that is his only knock, but Mick Price said during the week that he had been pinging the lids so if so, he can find a spot off midfield with cover from gate 10.
Drawing off the fence was going to be the determining factor with this horse starting favourite, so with plenty of room to move, he will have the chance to show that booming turn of foot.

Blue Diamond Stakes 2022 Next Best Bet - English Riviera
This filly was brave in the Prelude, having to lead them from start to finish and sticking on bravely in the final 100m, while her start prior was around Lofty Strike who would be favourite with a better gate.
English Riviera is going to ping and find the front early, but expecting something to cross from out wide, likely Miss Roseiano who sat to her outer last time, so she can get cover during the middle stages.
If she does not get too fierce in the run and saves some pennys for the final two furlongs, the x-factor is there to prove a force at a good price.

Blue Diamond Stakes 2022 Value Bet - Rampant Lion
Was not expecting this colt to head straight into the Blue Diamond off the back of his Preview run one month ago, but he has had a really testing jumpout in between which will have him ready to fire.
He just does not have the speed to win over 1000m, but being by Frankel, we have seen his progeny have the sprint to win fresh over 1200m in Australia (Argentia the perfect example).
Rampant will likely improve again at 1400m, but in what should be a strong run race, he can camp just off the pace from gate six, receiving every favour in the run.
