After recording a two-length win up the Flemington straight on debut last October before a spell, Bodyguard resumed with a half-length victory in the Blue Diamond Prelude (C&G) on February 10.

At $5 with Unibet Australia, Bodyguard heads a competitive market for the 2024 Blue Diamond Stakes, while Coleman ($5.50) sits on the second line of betting.

Another contender who is unbeaten from two starts, the Matt Laurie-trained colt landed big bets when bolting in first-up via the Chairman's Stakes on February 3.

Lady Of Camelot was unlucky on debut last September and she atoned for that defeat first-up on February 3, where the Waterhouse & Bott filly took out the Group 3 Widden Stakes at Rosehill.

She shares a $6 quote with High Octane, a Team Snowden-trained juvenile who impressed on debut at Caulfield on Australia Day before an unlucky attempt as favourite in the Blue Diamond Prelude (C&G) on February 10.

Eneeza ($9) was well held first-up behind Coleman, however, she did win the Merson Cooper second-up in her first campaign and that's often a strong form reference for the summer/autumn features.

Blue Diamond Stakes Winners

The Blue Diamond Stakes is Melbourne's premier two-year-old race and it continues to grow in popularity, with the race now worth $2 million (up from $1.5 million) and it will return to Caulfield in 2024 after being held at Sandown last year.

First run and won in 1971 when Tolerance took out the race, this juvenile feature has unearthed several top-line horses including Redoute's Choice, Alinghi and Extreme Choice.

Artorius (2021), Daumier (2022) and Little Brose (2023) have won the last three editions of the Blue Diamond Stakes.
