Deauville Legend and Loft have been heavily backed to win the Melbourne Cup with new bookmaker Betr facing a big payout if either win.
The two overseas gallopers are favourites to win the Race That Stops A Nation at Flemington on Tuesday, November 1.
English runner Deauville Legend is currently occupying 35% of the entire market with Betr, who face a $15 million-plus payout if he is successful in the Melbourne Cup.
Loft, who is trained in Germany, also holds a significant percentage of bets with up to $10 million of liabilties if he is to win the race.
The huge potential payouts come after Matt Tripp's Betr were hit by a large payout on Anamoe winning the Cox Plate after the offered 20/1 odds on it happening.
Betr also have plenty of liabilities on the Melbourne Cup from their 100/1 odds market that was briefly available when the new betting site was launched.
Online bookmaker Betr has caused a stir in the betting landscape after their launch a fortnight ago and they will be hoping for a favourable result in next weeks Melbourne Cup to soften the blow.
Betr hit the ground running offering 20-1 odds for Anamoe to win the Cox Plate as well as 100-1 odds for every horse to win the Melbourne Cup this year.
