Japanese legend Almond Eye farewelled racing in fine style taking out the 2020 Japan Cup on Sunday.
Jumping equal $2.80 favourite with the unbeaten Triple-Crown winning three-year-old Contrail, it was Almond Eye's ninth Group 1 win and her second win in the Japan Cup.
$40/1 chance Kiseki set the race alight setting a frantic tempo up front, leading the second horse by over ten-lengths at some stages throughout the race.
Contrail finished strongly into second behind Almond Eye and now looks the heir-apparent to her throne as Japan's best horse.
