The 2021 All-Star Mile will be run and won on Saturday, March 13 with argubaly Australia's two best middle distance horse set to go head-to-head, along with potentially two future stars that are yet to hit their peak.

Race favourite Arcadia Queen has drawn barrier 5 while alongside her in the betting is superstar Kiwi Mare Probabeel, drawing barrier 10. Both of these Mares come through the Futurity Stakes over 1400m at Caulfield.

Russian Camelot (Barrier 2) finished third in a Cox Plate, beating both of the aforementioned favourites, but comes here first-up with the Queen Elizabeth in Sydney his main aim for the prep.

Mugatoo (Barrier 8) was fourth in a Cox Plate and is the second future star that is looking to put his name up in lights for Australian Bloodstock, while Star Of The Seas (Barrier 12) and Behemoth (Barrier 1) are leading hopes in this great race.

2021 All-Star Mile Tips

All-Star Mile 2021 Best Bet - Arcadia Queen

This mare was arguably the best run in the 2020 Cox Plate on ground that she easn't as comfortable on and the fact that she nearly fell around the back straight added further merit to the performance.

Following that, Arcadia Queen won Group One Mackinnon Stakes and placed first-up behind Probabeel in the Futurity Stakes, with that winner benefiting from a prior run.

That effort will have brought her on a lot in condition, ready to peak for this event, while William Pike should have an easy job from the gates, drawing perfectly in barrier five, giving him plenty of options early.

It does look a race in two, but I am sticking with the Queen to get over the line second-up and up to the mile.

All-Star Mile 2021 Next Best Bet - Mugatoo

Although I did mention it does look a two horse race, if the rain comes I do not want to be leaving this boy out of calculations considering his fourth-placed effort in the 2020 Cox Plate.

Mugatoo was three-wide for the entire trip and although did come wide into arguably better ground, it was a phenomenal run to get as close as he did covering so much ground.

He is still a rung below Arcadia Queen, Russian Camelot and Probabeel in my books, but is the horse who has not been tested enough at this level to get a strong guide on how good he really is.

I don't mind him second-up at the mile in what we expect to be a high pressure event, conditions that he clearly relished last year in the Cox Plate, but as a bet, only if the rain comes and based on potential.

All-Star Mile 2021 Value Bet - Shout The Bar

While not in the top echelon of runners in this race, what she does have in her favour is the fact she is one of the few true milers and is in-form, jumping from a soft gate.

Shout The Bar has the gate speed to be somewhere near the pace and do zero work in running, just using her push button turn of foot when needed.

She ran well in the Mackinnon Stakes last year behind Arcadia Queen off the back of winning the Empire Rose, this time coming into the race off a third in the Tressady behind Chaillot.

For a mare who can fill a slot for exotics, she looks the stand out pick of the roughies in the All-Star Mile based on her last three race starts and favourable racing pattern.
