The All Aged Stakes is a 1400m event run under weight-for-age conditions at Randwick and this feature is one of Australia's oldest Group 1 races.

2024 All Aged Stakes Best Bet - Sunshine In Paris

The Annabel Neasham-trained mare was only narrowly defeated last start in the TJ Smith Stakes, although the daughter of Invader didn't appear to relish heavy ground in that outing.

Sunshine In Paris was enormous prior to that in The Galaxy, where the four-year-old worked home on what clearly the inferior ground on Rosehill's Golden Slipper Day program.

That could have left her a shade flat in the TJ Smith Stakes, however, she was snagged back early in that 1200m feature and she'll get a softer run in transit here from gate two.

She's a Group 1 winner over this track/trip and on firmer ground (soft is okay) third-up, where'll she enjoy a stronger tempo, Sunshine In Paris could be ready to explode here.

2024 All Aged Stakes Next Best Bet - Southport Tycoon

He will have his admirers off a last start Australian Guineas victory, as the form through that race has stood up strongly, with Veight and Riff Rocket both subsequent Group 1 winners.

The Ciaron Maher-trained colt was scratched from the Doncaster Mile due to a heavy surface and he also drew wide there, while Southport Tycoon draws kinder in the All Aged Stakes.

Given the gap between runs since his last appearance on March 2, the son of Written Tycoon has been back to the trials twice and he has worked well on each occasion.

It's been a spaced out campaign for Southport Tycoon and while connections will be trying to avoid a heavy surface, the three-year-old shouldn't have any issues on soft ground.

2024 All Aged Stakes Value Bet - Encap

This Gary Portelli-trained galloper is perhaps the forgotten three-year-old of this crop, a gelding who has been competitive without luck all prep and back to 1400m suits him.

Encap took out a Group 2 fourth-up last campaign over this trip before a narrow defeat in the Golden Rose and he was building into the autumn well before the Randwick Guineas.

He was held-up for most of the straight there and that form has not only stood up through Celestial Legend, but Militarize, Ceolwulf and Ducasse have also come from that Group 1.

After receiving a bump at the start, Encap was chasing a long way out in a decent George Ryder effort and from a middle draw on Saturday, they will aim to settle him closer.
