2019 VRC Sprint Racing Tips - Can Santa bring punters an early Christmas?

The VRC Sprint is a time honoured 1200m event run on the last day of the Flemington carnival.

Carrying a purse of $1 million, some of the best sprinters we have seen have taken out his event.

Takeover Target, All Silent, Buffering and of course the mighty Black Caviar have all won this race in the past 20 years.

This year Santa Ana Lane will be looking for back-to-back wins while three-year-old Loving Gaby has found herself in the race after winning the Manikato.

VRC Sprint Best Bet - Santa Ana Lane @ $2.15

Despite going down narrowly in this year's Everest, Santa Ana Lane is still Australia's best sprinter.

He was victorious in this race last year and could not have been more impressive in doing so.

Santa will come into this race third-up, he will be rock hard fit and always improves further into his preparation.

The stable have said that he is fit and firing which gives me confidence we will see him at his best.

He has drawn barrier five but will settle back and be searching for runs as he did to win last year's race.

VRC Sprint Value Bet - Loving Gaby @ $8

She showed she is an elite level filly when winning the Manikato Stakes, holding off Vital Silver.

Getting to Flemington I think will only enhance her chances with a big straight to play with and a turn of foot that could win her any race.

The sprinter she will face here are the next level up from what she faced a fortnight ago, but she now has a Group One win on the board and weight relief being a three-year-old filly.

She is the horse we want to be taking exotics with around Santa Ana Lane.
