2019 VRC Sprint Futures Best Bets

The VRC Sprint is a time honoured 1200m event run on the last day of the Flemington carnival.

Carrying a purse of $1 million, some of the best sprinters we have seen have taken out his event.

Takeover Target, All Silent, Buffering and of course the mighty Black Caviar have all won this race in the past 20 years.

This year Santa Ana Lane will be looking for back-to-back wins while three-year-old Loving Gaby could find herself in the race if she runs well in the Manikato.

VRC Sprint Futures Best Bet - Santa Ana Lane @ $3.80

Despite going down narrowly in this year's Everest, Santa Ana Lane is still Australia's best sprinter.

He was victorious in this race last year and could not have been more impressive in doing so.

Santa will come into this race third-up, he will be rock hard fit and always improves further into his preparation.

The stable have declared that he will now target this race and it looks perfect to put another Group One victory on the board.

VRC Sprint Futures Value Bet - Zoutori @ $11

This boy could be a big surprise packet this spring after running a huge third in the Gilgai last start.

The stable said there is a race on Derby day down the straight that they are leaning towards but I would not be surprised to see him back up seven days later in this race.

He sits back and has a monster turn of foot, one that will only improve in the next season.

The sky is the limit with him.

I don't think he can beat the favourite, but he could very well run a placing behind him and put himself on the map as a potential star in the coming 12 months.
