Gosford Racing Tips For 04.12.2019 - Does he Parade well or Big fresh?

Gosford will host a seven race race provincial card this Wednesday afternoon where the rail is in the 3m position.

The track is rated a Good 4 and fine conditions are expected.

Gosford Best Bet

Race 5 No. 2 Big Parade

A resuming three-year-old that ran good time to win on debut before being tipped out following a runner-up listed effort on June 22.

This son of Deep Field perhaps would've won that black-type affair with a better alley as he was forced to work across and camp outside a good speed early where he was vulnerable late.

He's looked well up to the mark in the two trials leading into his second racing preparation and accounted for some useful older horses in his last hit-out on November 21 in the fastest heat of the morning.

Gets the services of gun front-running hoop Tim Clark whilst his biggest market threat is Blazing who's winning form is over further and is drawn out, giving Big Parade every chance as the best bet at Gosford.

Gosford Next Best Bet

Race 4 No. 6 Lillemor

This filly has shown above average ability at the trials leading into her first assignment here over 1100m.

A superbly bred three-year-old by Halllowed Crown and out a Golden Slipper winner in Polar Success, she took good benefit from her first outing to lead and score comfortably on November 12 at Randwick.

Was visually the most impressive of the maiden trials that morning and she was sharper on the clock than Rome who is first-up here as a gelding, but wasn't as dynamic as Lillemor there.

Is expected to make good early use of barrier one which is always an advantage on this circuit and with the 2kg claim, they should take luck out of the equation.

Gosford Best Value Bet

Race 6 No. 6 Hammoon Ballad

Prepared by the Tamworth stable of Sue Grills, this mare is better suited stepping up to the mile here third-up.

Both runs leading in have been sound albeit well held but looks to be crying out for this journey now and at 1600m, she's won two from three overall.

Her worst result over this trip was fourth on soft ground via the 2019 Grafton Guineas where the trifecta from that race includes a few city class gallopers and all three are rated well above anything in this field.

Can settle closer from barrier five over this journey in a field not blessed with a lot of speed and is well placed in a very winnable affair.

We'll aim to anchor the bank and get a small profit with Big Parade in Race 5.

There were many candidates for the next best bet but have settled on Lillemor from the trials in the fourth.

Hammoon Ballad is a good chance at a fair quote in Race 6.
