Geelong Tips December 11
Newcomb Sand & Soil 3YO Maiden Plate Tips (Race 3)
Geelong Best Bet - Race 3 No. 13 Sensationalisation
From the Price and Kent Jr yard, this 3YO Filly showed up in two handy races over the winter, running third on a heavy track to Zacouver and Zesty Belle, while she then ran third in the Vobis Ingot to Flinders River and Galactic Fury.
That form is strong enough for this maiden first-up off the back of a nice Traralgon trial.
She should settle just beyond midfield from the wide gate, so watch for her swooping around the Geelong bend with a long straight to mow them down on.
Bennett Racing BM58 Handicap Tips (Race 5)
Geelong Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 1 Rogue Star
He drifted incredibly heavily in the market last start but still ran gamely when finishing third, bombing the start.
He will need to improve his barrier manners, but has so much class that could very well get him over the line in this class one.
The form should stand up out of the Bendigo placing last outing, and with leading rider John Allen in the saddle, he will naturally settle back in the field and let rip around the bend.
There does look a couple of smart types in the race, but with fitness on his side now, he just needs to behave to feature.
Jack Rabbit Vineyard BM58 Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Geelong Value Bet - Race 7 No. 6 Oh So Skeptical
I do own a small share in this horse, but after jumping well and finishing just behind My Divas last start, he is back in business in this grade of race.
He was only two lengths from My Divas last start who now gets an apprentice on board to bring the weight down, whereas 'Zuma', keeps Dean Holland aboard and draws wide which is what he needs.
Expect him to land outside of the speed over the 1400m and keep them running, as he did in his Hamilton maiden win at his third start.

Verdict
Sensationalisation looks well placed to break through for the due maiden win.
Rogue Star can make a mess of the start, but he has a powerful turn of foot that will be suited to the Geelong straight.
Oh So Skeptical looks over the odds in a very even race on paper.
