Eagle Farm Tips October 3

Eagle Farm Each-Way Bet - Race 1 No. 10 Winter Violet

The babies will get their first taste of the race conditions this Saturday, lead by Kacy Fogden’s $450,000 yearling purchase Winter Violet.

The daughter of Not a Single Doubt trialled extremely strongly at the Gold Coast leading into her debut, settling outside the leader before running through the line untouched.

Tegan Harrison rode her in the trial where they ran a strong time for the morning, and stays aboard this weekend where she will press forward from barrier ten.

Stepping out on debut, Winter Violet is the best each-way play of the day.

SOUTHS SPORTS CLUB Class 3 Handicap Tips (Race 4)

Eagle Farm Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 4 Montez

This Maryann Brosnan-trained gelding was receiving no luck at all this preparation before making amends at Ipswich last week, thrashing his opposition by over six-lengths.

After missing the start first-up and caught in traffic second-up, everything went to plan for the four-year-old More Than Ready gelding at Ipswich, settling behind the speed and powering away.

Running the 1350m in 1-20.49, it was over two seconds quicker than the other 1350m race on the same day, and boasting a fifth place behind Supergiant in the Group 3 Gunsynd, stepping up to the mile will only suit.

Drawn to sit midfield off the rail, Montez looks perfectly placed to record consecutive victories with Robbie Fradd aboard.

CAPTAIN SONADOR OPEN Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Eagle Farm Value Bet - Race 6 No. 4 Emerald Kingdom

This gelding from the Rob Heathcote never came up last preparation but won six straight races the preparation before.

It all went wrong from the start during the winter for Emerald Kingdom, suffering an injury before his first-up run, and never recovering from there.

Boasting an excellent record at Eagle Farm with three wins from four starts, the six-year-old son of Bryannbo’s Gift trialled very well behind Zoustyle at Doomben in a strong indication he is back to his best.

Drawn barrier six, Robbie Fradd is unbeaten in four runs aboard Emerald Kingdom and he's worth another chance on resumption.

GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB No Metro Wins Handicap Tips (Race 7)

Eagle Farm Roughie - Race 7 No. 6 Fuji Flyer

He was our each-way play of the day at the Gold Coast a fortnight back, and entering this weekend with a much better draw, Fuji Flyer can make amends with a gun run in transit.

Forced to settle three wide with no cover from a wide barrier last start, the Gillian Heinrich trained gelding was enormous, running through the line to only be pipped for second, with over two-lengths back to fourth.

Drawn barrier two, the five-year-old son of Sidereus boasts a strong record on top of the ground and will enjoy the run of the race landing just behind the speed.

James Orman stays aboard Fuji Flyer who will enjoy a much better run in transit this weekend, and looks primed to breakthrough third-up.

Eagle Farm Best Bet - Race 8 No. 2 Desert Lord

This David Vandyke-trained gelding is a different horse on top of the ground and he showed that first-up, demolishing his opposition over this track.

Settling off the speed, the former Hawkes trained galloper trialled extremely well in the lead up to his first-up assignment, and transferred that form to the track, running 1200m in an electric 1-08.81 EASED DOWN!

Boasting form around the likes of Kolding and Fierce Impact during last spring, Desert Lord is drawn perfectly to land midfield from barrier six, and enters this race fit after a strong tick over trial.

Desert Lord is the best bet at Eagle Farm on Saturday as he aims for consecutive victories.

Race 6: 2,4,7
Race 7: 6,11,12
