A six race Metropolitan Sydney program will be run at Canterbury on Wednesday where the track is currently in Heavy 9 range and mostly fine conditions are predicted over the next few days.

The rail is out 3 metres after being in true position on the June 10 program.

Canterbury Best Bet - Race 1 No. 1 Brutality

The step up to the 1550 metres now third-up looks ideal for this three-year-old who's first two runs this time in have suggested that he's looking for more ground.

A son of Shamus Award that's prepared by the Joe Pride stable, Brutality charged out of the pack to reel in all bar Jeronimos first-up at Newcastle on May 23 where he clearly bettered both Sammy (since placed behind group performer Blaze A Trail) and Stormy Rock (narrowly beaten in a city maiden following that).

At his latest attempt, he was the pick of the chasers when fourth over the 1250 metres here on June 10 where he appeared to handle the heavy going but just found the distance a little sharp.

This isn't the strongest maiden and if Brenton Avdulla can hold what is generally a favourable rails position here from barrier two, then Brutality gets his chance as the best bet at Canterbury this Wednesday.
