Bunbury Best Bets & Predictions For Wednesday, October 9

Bunbury kicks off it's proceedings for this season with a seven race provincial card this Wednesday afternoon.

It is a turning track but it has a fair run for home which can even it up somewhat.

Bunbury Best Bet

Race 4 No. 7 Boomtastic

Resuming three-year-old filly from the astute Simon Mille yard who's been well supported in both runs to date which have been in tougher company.

Was specked at a price on debut via a 70k event in town before again being well supported on August 7 when the blinkers went on and she led throughout but tired with an impressive first starter picking her up late.

William Pike takes the reins for this fresh assignment where they've drawn well to land on-speed and coming back to the 1000m will suit whilst she should be more effective on top of the ground going off her first trial.

Well back in class to a provincial maiden and is clearly the one to beat here off exposed form.

Bunbury Best Bet: Boomtastic - $2.05 via Sportsbet

Bunbury Next Best Bet

Race 2 No. 5 Porphyrio

This mare by War Chant certainly looks due if the fourth-up effort at Belmont on September 25 when rattling home to just miss is any indication.

Cost herself the win after a tardy getaway where she had to be ridden up from an inside alley to just tack-on initially, she only got to the outside and at the 200m before letting down strongly in the last 100m.

She isn't exactly electrifying from the barriers which is the query, however that was the worst it's been so far this campaign and she went straight past her two main threats in the market in that same race.

Just needs even luck throughout to be winning.

Bunbury Next Best Bet: Porphyrio - $2.35 via Sportsbet

What time is the first race at Bunbury?

Race 1 starts at 1.24pm local time.

When is the Bunbury Cup?

The Bunbury Cup is in March and in 2020, will be held on Sunday, March 8.

Burger Time, a 40/1 outsider took out the $120,000 listed feature in 2019.

How do I live stream the races?

Visit our live streaming hub where you can get all the information on how you can live stream racing and sport.

There's little value on this card and for the best we'll go with Boomtastic to take out the opening leg of the quaddie.

Porphyrio is over-due for a win and looks well placed in the second.
