This field is be bigger than what he met in the CS Hayes which means he can be ridden a little quieter, giving him a better opportunity to showcase his explosive turn of foot that we have seen in New Zealand.
Up to the mile, this will suit him down to the ground as well as the experience around Flemington.
Lastly, he gets a 1kg weight swing on Alligator Blood and therefore with all these factors influencing the race shape, I can’t go past Catalyst on top.

RANDWICK
Race 6 No. 1 Flit
She defied a big price to score first-up was this Godolphin filly who was a comfortable winner of the Light Fingers Stakes on February 15.
The 2019 Thousand Guineas champion who only had the one trial leading into that assignment, she had the blinkers applied prior to that run and exploded with the important gear change.
One of the more versatile runners in this Surround Stakes field, she gives her jockey plenty of options from barrier seven early in this big field whereas the talented Funstar will need luck from a wide draw.
New customers only. 18+ T&Cs and wagering requirements apply.

DOOMBEN
Race 2 No. 4 Mongolian Wolf
This looms as a real d-day scenario for this gelding who steps up to the 2000m now third-up from a spell.
Whilst he is a while between drinks, his two runs in Sydney in readiness for this ten furlong challenge have been terrific over 1500m and 1600m respectively, especially considering them trips are on the sharp side for him.
Has finished with a good purpose in both of them performances and his closing sectionals via his last attempt at Randwick were only slightly inferior to Attorney's, a very progressive stayer who's well in the early calculations for the Sydney Cup.

MORPHETTVILLE
Race 1 No. 7 Golden Snitch
This horse has an electric turn of foot, and she showed that last start, coming from near last on the turn at Gawler to storm away for a four length win.
This race does't look as if there is a stack of speed, playing into the favour of this horse with the small field.
She has the best turn of foot in the race, and with Lachie Neindorf in the saddle, taking another 3kg off her back, bringing her down to 52.5kg should see her win this race.

ASCOT
Race 8 No. 1 Tuscan Queen
Wasn't this the same filly that went around as a $3.40 favourite in the 2019 Group One Kingston Town Classic?
It most certainly was and tipped out following a midfield finish there, she returned via the Challenge Stakes on February 15 which was dominated by a stable mate in Superstorm who's headed east and isn't without some hope in the Australian Guineas.
She wasn't given much of a chance there when settling at the rear but was doing her best work late in a performance that indicated this extra distance would be ideal now and the blinkers have been applied for the first time.
