As usual the WA metro winter racing is at Belmont where the track is soft and the rail is out four metres.
The long Belmont straight should give each horse a winning chance, but our two picks standout as obvious gallopers to follow for the day.

Race 8 No. 6 The Fugazi
The four-year-old gelding by Sebring has won both starts this preparation in good fashion by an accumulated margin of four and a half lengths.
He draws barrier 10 for this assignment but if he can find some cover early in the race, rivals will know he is there.
The big question mark here is the distance. The Fugazi's single start at the mile was in the WA Guineas, where he finishied eight lengths away from Cox Plate contender Arcadia Queen.
If The Fugazi handles the 1600m journey he looks to be the clear-cut best galloper in the field and the Belmont best bet of the day to close out the card.

Race 5 No. 6 Fairview
This chestnut mare has been strong through the line at her last two starts at big odds.
First-up she settled well back to come home down the outside to only be beaten just over a length. Second-up they decided to take her back to the 1000m where she was out-sprinted early but again did her best work late.
The stable have taken her back up to the 1200m where she should be able to show her acceleration. In this ten horse field, she may be able to settle closer to midfield than last and swoop on the leaders late.
There has also been some early market support so this may also be an indication to Fairview's chances.
