The 2024 Inter Dominion Series continues this Wednesday night at Bathurst, where we'll see five heats, three for the Pacers and two for the Trotters.

The opening night of Heats at Newcastle last Friday was run and won, with several standouts as well as a few surprise and shock results.

Also on the program are Finals for the NSW Breeders Western Region for respective ages and sexes. Nine races are set down for the program, with the first to get underway at 6.24pm local time.

So, who will be getting the cash? An extended preview is down below of the meeting.

Best Bet: Race 5 No 8 Minstrel

He's short but all things being equal, I think he'll be too good in the third and final Heat for the Pacers for the meeting. There was a lot of quality about his win at Newcastle on Friday night, leading throughout and he smashed the clock relative to the meeting. No Swayzee and Leap To Fame, this Series is crying out for fresh blood and this rising WA star does look the best of the Pacers. Confident he can confirm it with another win here. Curly James, a stablemate of Swayzee, looks the next best, but has to overcome a second row draw and not sure he can give Minstrel a start and a beating.

Next Best: Race 1 No 9 She's A Warrawee

David Kennedy always has a nice horse in his stable and he has this girl looking to make it four wins from five career outings. She has been arrogant her past two starts, winning them both, and each time she has given the clock a nudge with dominance. The second row draw does make things tricky but if she can overcome it, I do think she has a bit on this lot. $2.40/thereabouts in early betting, but that seems a fair enough price. Windy Hill Lucy has drawn the pole and should she hold the lead, then this girl will get the beaut sit in behind and likely use the sprint lane.

Value: Race 7 No 9 Royal Dan

This is the second and final Heat for the Trotters for the evening and I reckon this guy is value for sure at double figures. He ran behind Queen Elida at Newcastle last Friday where she was badly held up behind tired runners before eventually getting clear air and he finished off with real purpose. The Locomotive is favourite but I thought he was just fair in winning at Newcastle and seems rock bottom. Royal Dan will do no work from the gate and if the breaks go his way when it comes to getting clear air, I think he only runs well.

Throw At The Stumps: Race 3 No 11 Hector

First Heat for the Pacers this evening and I think this guy is just a crazy, crazy price. Watch his replay behind Captains Knock at Newcastle. Yes, had a suck run in transit off the speed, but he was dead set jogging and just had no room to move at all. The runs prior were fair but perhaps the trip away has sparked him into life? Not sure, but at the price, $51+, I think he has to be worth a small speck at the price.

Other Features (In Racebook Order)

Race 4: ID Pacing Championship Heat

The most open Pacing Heat on the card. Mach Dan can hum off the arm and over the sprint trip, I dare say he will carve across and lead. From there, he'll take beating. But keep an eye on Terry. He is flying at present for Darren Binskin. Dominant all the way win at Menangle two back before a narrow second to Captains Knock at Newcastle. Maps to be forward and be strong late. If I was forced to bet, I'd be specking Terry each way at $21+.

Race 6: ID Trotting Championship Heat

Looks a race in two but there was a lot of arrogance about the win of Queen Elida at Newcastle, making a mess of them from the front and has well and truly put the cards on the table for the ID Series. Has Keayang Chucky drawn inside her directly so may have to work to lead, but should she find the top again, with some ease, then she should be winning and will be #1 seed for the Final in nine days time.
