Maturity Classic Greyhound Betting Tips
The Maturity Classic will be held on Saturday night at The Meadows over 525m.
This is one of the strongest Group One fields that we have ever seen assembled, let alone one of the strongest Maturity Finals.
There is utter pace from boxes one to four and box eight, so we may get a little tight around the first bend.
Simon Told Helen is Australia's best greyhound and may well assert his dominance by landing on the speed from the bounce.
Maturity Classic Best Bet - Simon Told Helen
The champ was back to his brilliant best last week in his heat, winning very comfortably by five lengths.
He was below his best in Queensland, slowly away at both starts, but his box manners certainly improved last week, where we saw what he really can produce.
From box three, he should be able to jump quicker than Tiggerlong Tonk to his outside, and possibly sit outside Hard Style Rico to the first bend who is jumping from the cherry.
There is no faster mid-race dog than Simon, so he will be asserting himself down the back of the course.
If he is outside the leader on the first bend, there will be no stopping Simon.
Maturity Classic Value Bet - Christo Bale
This greyhound has really caught my eye at his last three wins and will be the one to take full advantage of the race if it gets messy early.
Three starts back he was explosive in his heat of the McKenna Memorial, before showing all class in the Group Two win a week later.
He backed up both of these wins with a nippy 29.67, five length win in his heat of the Maturity.
He will not be as fast away as Simon or Rico, but he loves to stalk, so if we see some carnage between those early split stars, Christo has the mid-race and final splits to power right underneath them to claim his first Group One race.
