GWIC Launches Temora Cup Investigation

The result of Sunday's Temora Cup could be in doubt with the news that the Greyhound Welfare & Integrity Commission (GWIC) has launched an inquiry into the race.

Late Monday, vision began circulating of the moments leading up to the greyhounds being placed into the boxes for the $10,000 feature, which was won strongly by recent Bathurst Cup winner Nangar Diva.

GWIC officials moved to begin investigations into the alleged matter, after the commission received an official complaint from the connections of race favourite Kamikaze Cowlick.

The contents of that complaint are not known at this time.

Drawn box one in the final, the Andrew Mulrine-trained Kamikaze Cowlick began moderately before finishing fifth, never looking like a winning chance.

The GWIC released a short statement on Tuesday: “The Commission has received information relating to the Temora Cup on Sunday.

“The information received is under investigation and will be finalised by the Commission as a matter of priority.”
