2025 Supercars Tasmania Super 440 Tips
The local favourite Matt Payne took out the weekend in Taupo, NZ, but it was the performance of Cam Waters that impressed the most in relation to the Championship.
With the Supercars spectacle moving from island to another and setting up camp in Tasmania this weekend another ferocious battle at the front awaits the fans on Australia’s big apple.
Symmons Plains Raceway in Launceston is the definition of high-octane and speed with long straights and sweeping left-handers. With high-speeds comes heavy braking and the drivers that are the bravest will be successful this weekend.
Maneuvering out of the final hairpin and lining up a good run out of one of the slowest corners on the calendar make this circuit a real technical challenge.

In 2024, Broc Feeney and Tom Randle were the pole sitters for the two races in Tassie, with Cam Waters qualifying second on both occasions by under a tenth of a second.
With the form of Waters this season, it is hard to overlook the Monster Castrol driver to be at the front of the grid in Race 11 of the Championship.
The Red Bulls were off the pace in New Zealand and did not particularly enjoy the trip to Tasmania last season for the SuperSprint as much as they dominated the other rounds of the year.
The Mustangs have proven that they perform best on the high speed tracks and with the supercars reaching top speeds of 270km/hr and an average of 167km/hr then they will be in their element in qualifying.
Supercars Tasmania Super 440 Best Bet
A misjudged pit strategy cost Cam Waters the first race in Tasmania last season but Monster Castrol Racing wrote their wrongs in the second race with Waters streaming out to a 6.34 second lead over Will Brown who finished the race in second.
Waters appears to have the better pace at the moment and if he can put his car on the front row of the grid like he did in both races in 2024 then he will give himself ample opportunity to take a couple of victories in Symmons Plains Raceway this weekend.
Verdict
Cam Waters is expected to dominate in Tasmania, taking pole and the race win.
