After Townsville, the championship is well and truly alive with Will Brown crashing out and his teammate in the Red Bull Racing team cutting his lead from 141 to just 78 points as the Ford Mustangs took five of the six podium positions in the two races in Queensland.
Last year’s race brought out the strengths of the Camaros with Brodie Kostecki winning the first race for Erebus, while Shane van Gisbergen took out race 2.

With the Ford Mustang’s beginning to take over the past few races in Supercars and Cam Waters really finding his rhythm, especially on a stand-alone lap, I expect the soon to be 30-year-old to take his fifth pole of the season.

If Waters can put his Mustang on the front row, the Monster Castrol car is going to be hard to beat around Sydney Motorsport Park. Waters has taken 6 of his 12 Supercars wins from pole position and has converted his fastest qualifying lap into a race win at a ratio of just over 1 in 4.
The Red Bull racing team of championship leader Will Brown and Broc Feeney will be in the mix with Camaros proving that they are quick under the lights in Sydney last season, however, there feels to be a change of guard in 2024 with the Ford’s applying the pressure.
