The Heat have enjoyed the last week off after advancing directly into the Challenger match, while the Thunder have momentum following their victory mid-week over the Hurricanes in the Knockout clash.
- Thunder beat Heat by 19 runs in their only previous meeting this season
- Thunder have momentum having defeated Hobart by six wickets two nights ago
- Phoebe Litchfield scored 46 runs in that win over the Hurricanes
Head To Head
These two teams have split their last four meetings at two wins apiece, with the Thunder prevailing by 19 runs when they met on neutral territory at the WACA on November 7 earlier this season.
Brisbane Heat Form
The Heat's participation in the latter stages of the WBBL for this season was looking in danger after they lost three consecutive games earlier in the campaign.
However, Brisbane turned things around brilliantly and come into this Challenger match on the back of a five-match game streak, defeating the Sixers twice, Stars twice and Strikers during that period.
The Heat secured their spot in the Challenger match with a five-wicket triumph over the Sixers in their last outing, with Jemimah Rodrigues and Jess Jonassen top-scoring each with 39.
Sydney Thunder Form
The Thunder could have secured a home final, but they suffered a nine-wicket defeat to the Renegades, forcing them into a Knockout match against the Hurricanes.
However, the Thunder bounced back strongly, registering a six-wicket win with six balls remaining at Drummoyne Oval on Wednesday night.
Phoebe Litchfield was instrumental in victory for the Thunder, top-scoring with 46 off 36, while Anika Learoyd finished on 23 not out.
Verdict
Looks like a 50-50 match, so happy to side with the underdogs here, with the Thunder beating the Heat earlier this season.
Phoebe Litchfield is in tremendous form and can have another big night with the bat here.
