New Zealand were far too good in the first Test, and I don’t expect that to change in this fixture. South Africa have a severely weakened side with their top players all back home after the completion of the SA20.

New Zealand will be confident that they can close the series out with another win and secure a 2-0 series win. They were convincing in the first Test, scoring 511 runs in the first innings.
Batting first, it was a strange innings. Kane Williamson scored 118 and Rachin Ravindra 240 runs. No one else scored more than 39 runs. Matt Henry and Mitchell Santner then took three wickets each as South Africa were bowled out for 162 runs.
The follow-on was not enforced as the Black Caps raced to 179-4 before declaring. Kane Williamson scored 109 runs before the Proteas were all out for 247 on the fourth day.
South Africa Form
Not much was expected from South Africa going into the first Test considering this is largely a third string side, with a few second-choice players. The inexperienced told from the off.
New Zealand scored a huge 511 runs batting first, although Neil Brand excelled with the ball, taking 6-119. A disappointing batting performance ensued, with Keagan Pietersen top scoring with 45 runs. Proteas were all out for 162.
The hosts then scored 179 runs before declaring, leaving South Africa a target of 529 runs to win. A better batting performance saw South Africa reach 247 runs. David Bedingham top scored with a very well-played 87 runs.
Verdict
I am backing Kane Williamson to score big again. He is tipped to score 50+ runs in the first innings, top score in the first innings and score 100+ runs in the match.
For South Africa, David Bedingham is backed to top score in their first innings.
