Australia vs India Test series preview: Squads and how to watch and stream Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25

The Australian squad have been preparing well for the 2024-25 Border Gavaskar Trophy and are fully fit heading into the series. All but debutant Josh Inglis are well rested after missing the latest T20I series against Pakistan, with most of the Australian team playing in ODI series and being put on ice for the shorter form.

Stand-in T20I and ODI captain Josh Inglis isn’t the only first timer to make step out onto the wicket for the first time against the mighty challenge of the India’s with South Australian  captain Nathan McSweeney also expected to feature at some stage during the five-game series. 

For India it is a different story, as the visitors will start the 2024-25 Border Gavaskar Trophy series undermanned with skipper Rohit Sharma missing out at Perth due to the birth of his second child while Shubman Gill was also ruled out because of a thumb injury.. 

The depth of the Indian batters will be tested, now relying on veterans like Virat Kohli and KL Rahul to see off the clinical Australian bowling attack. Although it is not ideal, there may not be two more experienced batsmen in the world that know how to get the better of the Aussies.
