Adelaide Oval is a daunting ground for visiting opposition and only one team has beaten Australia in the City of Churches in the past 14 years and that was India, in December, 2018. Australia did get their revenge in Adelaide in the most recent test played between the two nations at the venue in 2020, beating India by 8 wickets.
The Australians have had dominant wins against all of the top cricketing nations in Adelaide in recent years and will need to draw on that to get them past India in a bounce back performance.
Travis Head has scored 175 runs, 119 runs and 38 not out in his past 3 innings at Adelaide over and being the inform batsman in the Australia squad he is predicted to top score in the first innings and get the Aussies off to a respectable start.
After a poor performance in Perth Pat Cummins is tipped to make up for his forthcomings and be the highest wicket taker in the first innings.
