The Firebirds batted first and posted 168/7 in their allotted overs where Devon Conway top scored with 49 runs. They restricted the Auckland Aces to 146/9 and won the match by 22 runs.
Not only was Devon Conway the top run scorer last season, he has also been in magnificent form recently for the New Zealand national team in T20 cricket.
