  • Tasmania have not won either of their last two games (One-Day Cup)
  • The home side are seven points short of Western Australia at the top (One-Day Cup)
  • New South Wales have lost all three of their games (One-Day Cup)
  • NSW are 17 points below WA at the top (One-Day Cup)

Head to Head

In the Sheffield Shield last week, Tasmania and New South Wales battled to a draw in the competition. Which side will pick up the win in the One-Day Cup this week?

Tasmania Form

Tasmania began their One-Day Cup campaign with a powerful win over South Australia. They were able to bowl their opponents out for 220 in 44.1 overs as Tom Rogers starred with the ball (5/32), before Caleb Jewell backed his bowlers up with a match winning 126 not out.

They followed this up with a huge six wicket win over Queensland as Riley Meredith notched a five-for. However, things went down hill from there.

Since then, Tasmania have been beaten by four wickets against South Australia and by 17 runs against Victoria. Jake Doran continues to impress, scoring 105 not out against SA and 104 against Victoria.

Tasmania will target this as a must-win game against an opponent that has been awful all season. A loss here would dent their hopes of snaring a top-spot this season, while it would see them move to three defeats in a row.

New South Wales Form

New South Wales helped Victoria lift the curtain on the new season, but this honour was one that saw them beaten by three runs on the DLS method. Daniel Hughes did star, notching 117 runs, but it was ultimately not enough.

They were then hammered by Western Australia in a nine wicket loss as they were skittled for just 76 runs. They did perform far better with the bat against South Australia, but their score of 322 was ultimately eight runs short of their opponents.

While they have struggled of late, Daniel Hughes one again starred. He smacked 139 from 127 to keep his side in the hunt, and NSW will hope for more of the same this time around.

Tasmania vs New South Wales FAQs

What time will Tasmania vs New South Wales start?

The game will start at 11:00 AEST on Thursday, November 17.

We are backing the Tigers to win this one and bounce back from a very disappointing two-game losing run.

NSW have looked better of late, but they have continually found it tough to seal the deal in the One-Day Cup, We are backing them to extend this run.
