Perth Scorchers vs Hobart Hurricanes Tips - Scorchers to claim fifth consecutive win

The Perth Scorchers are flying with four wins from their last four matches. They are backed to win again with the in-form Colin Munro tipped to be the Scorchers best batsman.

The Hobart Hurricanes have won four of their last five matches against the Perth Scorchers. When they last met in the 2019/20 Big Bash the Scorchers won by 17 runs.

The Perth Scorchers are flying in the BBL at the moment. They have won their last four matches and are looking to climb the table with a fifth straight win.

Last time out the Scorchers beat table toppers, Sydney Thunder in Perth by 17 runs. Colin Munro’s 50 runs set up a total of 185 in the Scorchers 20 overs. 

Jhye Richardson bowled magnificently for the Scorchers, taking 4-24 in four overs as the Sydney Thunder could only muster 168 runs.

The Perth Scorchers will probably go into this match unchanged. Ashton Turner came in for Cameron Bancroft last time out and performed, so should keep his place.

The Hobart Hurricanes currently occupy third position on the Big Bash table with five wins from their nine matches. Defeat in this one could however see the Scorchers climb above them on the table.

The Hurricanes last match was also against Sydney Thunder in Perth. The match ended in a 39 run defeat for the Hurricanes.

The Thunder batted first and scored 167 runs which was probably around a par score for the pitch. D’Arcy Short was the surprising star with the ball as he took 3-26 in his four overs.

In response the Hurricanes were however poor. The top four batsmen all got in but they all failed to go on to a big score. Ben McDermott scored 22 runs while Peter Handscomb top scored with 30, but they only managed to reach 128 runs in their 20 overs.

Colin Ingram’s form has dropped off recently so the Hurricanes may look to take him out for a game or two. Will Jacks, normally an opening batsman, is the most likely replacement.
