The Brisbane Heat snatched defeat from the jaws of victory after Sydney Thunder batsmen Daniel Sams smashed four sixes off Ben Laughlin in the second last over.
Described as 'pathetic' bowling by cricketing legend and Fox Sports commentator Ricky Ponting, the Brisbane Heat bowlers continually dished up a range of full tosses and half-trackers to Sams, smashing 65 runs off 28 balls.
Chasing the Heat's total of 6/178, the Thunder lost their first three wickets at 1/1, 2/1 and 3/23, before the Heat looked to have the game sealed when Alex Ross was dismissed at 5/80.
Ben Cutting and Sams put on 69 for the sixth wicket, before Sams took the game by the scruff of the neck, smashing four sixes in an over off Ben Laughlin to win the game
The win was the Heat's second loss in a row to start BBL10, and with pressure already building on the side, Monday nights loss to the Thunder will only increase the pressure.
