Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Sixers Tips - Sixers to bounce back with victory

The Sydney Sixers are backed to get back to winning ways with Josh Philippe to score runs again. Alex Carey carries the hopes of the Adelaide Strikers with others woefully out of form.

The Sydney Sixers have won their last five matches against the Adelaide Strikers. They met earlier this season when the Sixers won easily by 38 runs.

The Adelaide Strikers have won three and lost three of their opening six BBL matches. Getting a consistent run together seems to be the Strikers biggest problem.

They suffered a home defeat against the Perth Scorchers in their last outing. The Adelaide Strikers could only managed 146 runs batting first as Alex Carey scored 82 from 59 balls. Only two other batsman managed to make 10 or more.

The bowlers never really put enough pressure on the Scorchers as the visitors cruised to a seven wicket win with more than two overs to spare.

The Adelaide Strikers options are limited in terms of changes. Perhaps youngsters such as Spencer Johnson will get a chance at some point, but that is unlikely to happen in this match.

It is crucial for the Strikers to get a result against the Sixers so they are expected to field the same side.

The Sydney Sixers have made an impressive start to the BBL as they look to defend their title. They have won four of their six matches but lost their last one against the Brisbane Heat.

Batting first the Sixers scored 165 runs with Josh Philippe top scoring with 48 runs. Jordan Silk added 43 lower down the order.

It was a pretty even contest but when the Heat were 121-6 it looked like the Sixers were favourites to get home. Unfortunately Lewis Gregory played a good knock as the bowlers struggled to find their lengths.

Steve O’Keefe bowled well without taking a wicket for the Sixers with figures of 0-14 in three overs.

The Sixers are missing a number of players to international duty while Jason Holder’s stint has come to an end with the franchise. 

James Vince’s form will also be a concern to the coaching staff but they will stick with him for a couple more games. Moises Henrique will also come into the team if his availability is confirmed.
