Aussie bookmakers suspend NBA markets after league postponement
Online bookmakers in Australia have suspended NBA betting after the league chose to postpone the season as the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) continues to wreak havoc worldwide.
Punters with existing bets will not have their investments cancelled but any wagering on upcoming matches, individual awards and future markets will be unavailable until the season recommences.
Cash out will also be unavailable to punters wagering with a bookie that allows this option.
Sportsbet customers were issued the following statement on the site on Thursday: "The NBA has suspended the 2019/2020 Season.
"We have suspended all futures and outright markets until further guidance from the NBA. This means existing bets on these markets will stand and cash out will be unavailable until further notice."

Ladbrokes, Bet365, BetEasy and PlayUp have also suspended their markets.
The news to suspend all betting markets comes after the NBA decided to suspended its season "until further notice" after a Utah Jazz player tested positive on Wednesday for COVID-19.
"The NBA is suspending game play following the conclusion of tonight's schedule of games until further notice,'' the league said in a statement issued shortly after 9:30 p.m. ET.
"The NBA will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic.''
It is not yet known when the league will recommence.
The NBA is expected to address next steps with teams when it conducts a call with the board of governors at 12:30 p.m. ET Thursday, sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.
