Sydney Kings vs Perth Wildcats Live Stream & Tips

The Sydney Kings take on the Perth Wildcats in an NBL regular-season game on Thursday, May 27. Perth are second in the NBL Season Ladder, while Sydney are fifth. This will be the fifth and final time these two teams will face each other this season, with Perth leading 4-0. In their previous meeting in early April, Perth won 73-69.

The Wildcats have spent most of this season in second place in the NBL Season Ladder behind leaders Melbourne United. Sydney have hovered in or around the top-four playoff spots, although right now they are fifth, and with just two games left to play.

Perth have won seven of their last ten games going into Thursday’s matchup, including their last two. Sydney go into this game having won two of their last three games, although against bottom-three opposition. I’m backing the Perth Wildcats to complete a 5-0 season whitewash over the Sydney Kings on Thursday, winning by less than ten points.

  • Perth 2nd in NBL Season Ladder
  • Perth 24-9 this season
  • Sydney 5th in NBL Season Ladder
  • Sydney 16-16 this season

Head to Head

The Sydney Kings and the Perth Wildcats have played each other 45 times in NBL games dating back to 2010. Overall, the Wildcats lead this head-to-head 36-9. In their last eleven matches over the past two seasons, Perth lead 9-2. In their most recent encounter in April of this year the Wildcats were narrow winners by 73-69.

Sydney Kings Form

The Sydney Kings are fifth in the NBL Season Ladder, with a 16-16 record. With just two games left of the NBL regular season left to play, Sydney will need to defeat both the Perth Wildcats and the Melbourne United – currently second and first in the Season Ladder – and hope results go their way for any chance of a playoff place.

This will be the fifth time the Kings have played the Wildcats this season, and their final opportunity to score a win over Perth, who have thus far dominated their series 4-0. In their most recent game back in April, the Wildcats won by the narrowest margin of all of their games 73-69. Last time out, Sydney defeated the New Zealand Breakers 81-76.

Perth Wildcats Form

As all fans of the NBL are aware, the Perth Wildcats are by some distance the most successful team in the competition’s history, with 10 NBL championship wins. They are currently the reigning NBL Champions, and come the playoffs will be gunning for an eleventh title.

Perth are currently second in the NBL Season Ladder, narrowly trailing leaders Melbourne United. With only one game left to play – against the Sydney Kings – they can’t catch Melbourne United, nor can third-placed SE Melbourne Phoenix catch them. The Wildcats are in excellent form; they are 4-1 in their last five games including winning their last two, most recently defeating Adelaide 76-68.

Where can I watch a Perth Wildcats vs Sydney Kings live stream?

Our live streaming calendar shows you where you can watch a Perth Wildcats vs Sydney Kings live stream

While the Perth Wildcats can’t prevent Melbourne United ending the regular season on top of the NBL Season Ladder, they can attempt maintain their current good form as they enter the playoffs, maximizing their chances of winning an 11th NBL championship.
Attempting to disrupt that form and nab a playoff place are the Sydney Kings, whom Perth play in their final league game. Trouble is, Sydney haven’t been able to beat the Wildcats in four previous attempts this season.
I’m backing the in-form Perth Wildcats to be far too strong for Sydney and complete a 5-0 season rout of the Kings on Thursday. I’m predicting the Wildcats will win by a margin of less than ten points, in a matchup that will feature under 175 points.
