Perth Wildcats @ Brisbane Bullets Live Stream & Tips

The Perth Wildcats will play the Brisbane Bullets for the fourth and final time in an NBL regular-season game on Wednesday, May 19. Perth are 2-1 up in this rivalry, with their most recent victory over Brisbane coming just last week 102-90.

The Wildcats have spent 2021 in second place in the NBL Season Ladder behind Melbourne United - apart from a couple of weeks in April when they briefly took over at the top. Perth are the defending NBL champions, while Melbourne won the trophy in 2019.

Brisbane are sixth in the table with a record of 13-15, and could yet make the playoffs if they were to win the majority of the five games they have still to play and other results went their way. The top-four teams progress to the playoffs, and fourth spot is currently occupied by the Illawarra Hawks, with a 15-14 record.

I’m backing the ten-time NBL champions Perth to win Wednesday’s game.  As experienced campaigners they know how important it is to build momentum leading into the playoffs by winning matches, and this they will do at the expense of the Brisbane Bullets.

Head to Head

Since 2016, the Brisbane Bullets and the Perth Wildcats have played each other 21 times in the NBL. Overall, Perth lead this head-to-head by 13 wins to 8. In the seven matches they have played during last season and this one, Perth lead 4-3. When they last met earlier in May of this year, Perth won by 102-90.

Perth Wildcats Form

The Perth Wildcats have remained in second place behind Melbourne United for most of the 2021 season. Perth and Melbourne have been head and shoulders above the rest of the field, with both teams pushing each other with their relentless consistency. Melbourne are currently 23-7, while Perth are 22-8, so with four games still to play either team can finish top of the table. Perth are the current NBL Champions, and are the most successful team in the history of the championships, with ten titles. Melbourne are the 2019 champions.

Perth go into Wednesday’s game in great form, having won four of their last five games, including their last two. On May 15, the Wildcats defeated the Brisbane Bullets 102-90, and two days later Perth beat the Cairns Taipans 89-78.

Brisbane Bullets Form

The Brisbane Bullets are currently sixth in the NBL Season Ladder, with a record of 13 wins against 15 defeats. Brisbane are 3-2 in the last five matches, and had just beaten the fifth-placed Sydney Kings before running into Perth last time out and losing 102-90.

Last season Brisbane finished 5th in the NBL Season Ladder, and hopes were high that the Bullets might crack the top-four this year. The signs were promising when after a slow start Brisbane hit a “Purple-Patch” of 7 wins in 10 games that pushed them briefly into the top-four. However, a subsequent slump of six defeats in seven games saw them slide back down the table to their current position.

Our live streaming calendar shows you where you can watch a Perth Wildcats @ Brisbane Bullets live stream

The Perth Wildcats will be keen to add the Brisbane Bullets (again) to their recent list of victims as they build momentum heading into the NBL playoffs. However, the Bullets have their own agenda going into this game, as a strong finish to the season might yet earn them a playoff berth.
That said, Perth defeated Brisbane just last week, and while the Bullets will be gunning for revenge, the truth is they lack the firepower to compete with the defending champions in a clutch game like this.
I’m backing the Perth Wildcats to defeat the Brisbane Bullets by at least ten points in a match that will feature more than 175 points.
