PJC will suit up for the first time in 5 games after serving a suspension for contact with a match official. He will be well rested and eager to get out and help his team get back into the winners circle. He is 6th in NBA in scoring, 3rd in Assists and 1st in Steals giving the Breakers a massive boost on top of their increased scoring average over the past 5 games.

Tasmania will be without Majok Deng, Sean McDonald and Will Magnay leaving them short on big men rotations as well as dynamic scoring. Tassie are the league’s best defensive team but have a gaping hole in the paint where they allow the 4th most points of any team in the NBL. Look for PJC to exploit that with dynamic driving as well as pick and roll with Tacko Fall.

Take the NZ moneyline as well as Parker-Jackson to deliver 8+ assists and Fall to score 15+ points.

  • The JackJumpers are 4-7 on the road this season.
  • Tasmania allow 42.2 pts per game in the paint to their opponents, 4th most in the NBL.
  • PJC averages 6.3 assists against Tasmania in 3 games played this season.
  • Tacko Fall scored 11 and 16 in his two games against Tasmania and is averaging 11.7 on the season.

New Zealand Breakers Form & Team News

A new Breakers losing streak has quickly ballooned out to 4 straight games following back to back losses in round 16 against the Illawarra Hawks and Melbourne United.

The 108-100 loss to the Hawks looks closer than what the game was with Illawarra effectively slowing down after the half-time break. The 91-89 loss to Melbourne on the other hand could have almost been a win save for a Chris Goulding contested fade away three from well outside the perimeter that banked home with 1 second remaining on the clock.

4 of the 5 Breakers starters had double digit scoring nights but the ever reliable Matt Mooney limped to his 19 points on 6-19 shooting and 27% from distance. NZ restricted their opponent to just 30 points in the paint and 34% from 3pt range but it wasn’t enough to get them over the line against a determined opponent.

Parker Jackson-Cartwright has now served his suspension and will be back in the starting lineup for this game. Prior to his 5 game rest he was a top 3 MVP candidate scoring 19.9 pts per game with 6.7 assists and 1.7 steals.

Tasmania JackJumpers Form & Team News

Tassie were touched up at home by the Perth Wildcats in their most recent outing 105-73. It was a bit of a let-down spot with the team coming off an emphatic OT victory over the 36ers just two days before.

The team looked lethargic on the court going in to halftime with a 64-44 deficit with the crowd taking time to find their voice. The Jackies shot just 34% from the field and 26% from distance in the loss while having just 34 points in the paint.

Perth were restricted from beyond the arc but took what they wanted inside totalling 50 points in the paint and 50% shooting from the field.

On the season Tasmania are the number 1 ranked defence, restricting opponents to 86.3 pts per game and the league’s lowest 3pt% at 30.7%.

Majok Deng suffered an ankle injury at training over the weekend and will miss this game leaving Tasmania even shorter on experienced big men.
