Perth Wildcat Bryce Cotton won his fourth Andrew Gaze Trophy as the NBL MVP last season adding more silverware to the three Championships he has in his trophy cabinet. The Arizona born Cotton has been a star since coming into the league, playing 230 games for Perth and coming into his ninth season in NBL25.
It is no surprise that the Wildcats guard is the favourite to take out another MVP title in NBL25, but he will will have some competition with a new influx of imports and some of the best NBL prodigal sons returning.

14/10/24 - Monster Montrezl
The question on the whole NBL's lips is "Will Montrezl Harrell stay a 36ers?"
Harrell has been a phenmenon for the 36ers and has turned the whole organisation around under the guidance of new head coach Mike Wells. The former NBA Sixth Man of the Year is putting up MVP numbers averaging 15.7 points per game and 10.3 rebounds which has lifted the whole team as he also gets the best out of each and every other player that is on the court. The Adelaide 36ers are +56 points when Harrell is on the court and -73 when he is off it which is basic numbers that prove that he is definately the most important man in the 36ers squad.
Time will tell if he stays or goes but one thing is for sure, the Adelaide 36ers chances will ride that wave.
01/10/24 - Adams on the rise
After two rounds of the NBL season played we have been given a glimpse of what the season is going to have on offer. We have seen some stars shine and some dimmer, not reaching the preseason expectations after a slow start to the year.
Their were questions around who was gpoing to be the number one huy in the stacked Sydney Kings team, those questions have been answered with the name Jaylen Adams. The Kings guard went off to start the year, scoring 25 points in the opener against Adelaide, follwed by 27 points against Perth in a one-point victory for Sydney. Adams is also averaging 7.33 assists per game and already has 9 steals to his name after 3 matches.
Once New Zealand's Parker Jackson-Cartwright returns with the Breakers in a couple of weeks from the U.S, the MVP battle is only going to heat up even more.
19/09/24 - Bryce favourite for his fifth
The Wildcats little rocket Bryce Cotton is the favourite after winning last season’s Andrew Gaze Trophy and will once again be the key to Perth’s endevours to win another championship. The Wildcats have brought in some pieces to help them reach their goal and it will be interesting to see if Cotton’s offensive production decreases.
A couple of big names have returned to the NBL in the form of Melbourne United’s Jack White, Sydney’s Xavier Cooks and South East Melbourne’s Derrick Walton Jr. who are all scattered through the top ten on the favourites list. Expect the first couple of rounds to cause plenty of movement with all of these past NBL talents expected to challenge Cotton for the MVP.
Then there is New Zealand’s Parker Jackson-Cartqwright who carried the breaks on his 180cm frame last season coming oh so close to a semifinal berth after beating Sydney in the first play-in match. PJC will have all the responsibility again in New Zealand and that is why he is Cotton’s closest rival to start the season.
