Round 7 of National Basketball League will hold seven matches and gets underway with the Hawks v Kings.

Illawarra vs Sydney Thursday 7:30pm @ WIN Entertainment Centre


We predict Illawarra to comfortably defeat Sydney to kick off round seven. The last time Illawarra played was in round three due to COVID-19 protocol when they defeated NZ by one point. Tyler Harvey scored a game high 26 points and Duop Reath had a game high 13 rebounds. Sydney’s last match was in round four when they lost to Melbourne by 14 points. Jarrell Martin top scored with 19 points and Xavier Cooks took the most rebounds for the kings with 10. 

Melbourne United vs NZ Breakers Friday 7:30pm @ at MyState Bank Arena


Melbourne are primed for a win against the Breakers. In round six the Breakers defeated the Bullets by five points, in the only match of the round. Centre Yannick Wetzell was instrumental in the win, scoring a game high 27 points. In Melbourne’s last match they defeated Tasmania by four points with Chris Goulding scoring a game high four 3 pointers. Jo Lual-Acuil was also impressive with 19 points and eight rebounds.

Brisbane vs S.E Melbourne Saturday 5:30pm @ at Nissan Arena


The second placed Phoenix should easily be able to account for the Bullets in Brisbane. In round six the Bullets went down to the bottom places Breakers by five points in the only match of the round. Lamar Patterson top scored for Brisbane with 17 points while Robert Franks was scored three 3 pointes from his 13 points. The Phoenix’s last match was in round was in round three when they suffered their first loss to the season against Sydney by 11 points.  S.E Melbourne’s Mitch Creek top scored with 22 points while Zhou Li took the most rebounds for the match with 13. 

Illawarra vs Melbourne United Sunday 1:00pm @ WIN Entertainment Centre


We predict the fourth placed United will defeat the third placed Illawarra this week. To kick off the round the Hawks will face the Sydney Kings in a match they would feel confident winning. The last time Illawarra played was in round three due to COVID-19 protocol when they defeated NZ by one point. Tyler Harvey scored a game high 26 points and Duop Reath had a game high 13 rebounds. Melbourne face the Breakers in a very winnable game earlier in the round. In Melbourne’s previous match they defeated Tasmania by four points with Chris Goulding scoring a game high four 3 pointers. Jo Lual-Acuil was also impressive with 19 points and eight rebounds. Melbourne are set to play NZ earlier in the round. 

Sydney vs NZ Breakers Sunday 3:00pm @ at Qudos Bank Arena


The sixth placed Kings should be able to defeat the Breakers in front of their home fans on Sunday afternoon. Sydney’s last match was in round four when they lost to Melbourne by 14 points. Jarrell Martin top scored with 19 points and Xavier Cooks took the most rebounds for the kings with 10. In round six the Breakers defeated the Bullets by five points, in the only match of the round. Centre Yannick Wetzell was instrumental in the win, scoring a game high 27 points. The Breakers play Melbourne United earlier to kick off their round seven triple header. 

Adelaide vs Perth Tuesday 7:30pm @ at Adelaide Entertainment Centre


The top placed Perth should be able to defeat the eighth placed 36ers. In round five the Wildcats defeated Cairns by six points with Ben Cotton leading from the front with a game high 29 points and six rebounds. Adelaide’s last match was in round three when they lost to Cairns by 26 points. Dusty Hannahs was the 36ers best player while Isaac Humphries managed to take 10 rebounds. 

NZ Breakers vs Tasmania Wednesday 7:30pm @ at Mystate Bank Arena


The Jack Jumpers should be able to knock off the bottom placed New Zealand to finish off round seven. In round six the Breakers defeated the Bullets by five points, in the only match of the round. Centre Yannick Wetzell was instrumental in the win, scoring a game high 27 points. The Breakers play Melbourne United earlier to kick off their round seven triple header. Firstly, New Zealand will face Melbourne United in Tasmania then they will face Sydney in NSW before travelling back to Tasmania to host the Jack Jumpers. Tasmania’s last match was in round five against Melbourne United when they lost by four points. Josh Adams top scored with 23 points and Josh Magette scored a team high three 3 pointers.
