Round 6 of National Basketball League will hold seven matches after the two previous weeks being affected by COVID-19 related interruptions.

Adelaide 36ers vs Perth Wildcats (Friday 7:30pm @ Adelaide Entertainment Centre)
The top of the ladder Wildcats should defeat the eighth placed 36ers on the road. In round five Perth defeated the fifth placed Taipans by six points. Bryce Cotton was pivotal in his sides victory with a game high 29 points and six assists. Adelaide’s last game was in round three when they were defeated by Cairns by 26 points. Dusty Hannahs top scored for the 36ers with 20 points while Isaac Humphries collected a match high 10 rebounds.

Tasmania Jack Jumpers vs Sydney Kings (Saturday 5:30pm @ at MyState Bank Arena)
We believe the ninth placed Jack Jumpers will cause an upset against the Sydney Kings. Last week the Jack Jumpers narrowly lost to United by four points with Josh Adams top scoring with 23 points. In round four Tasmania picked up a win over the bottom placed Breakers by nine points. Josh Adams was once again amongst the scores with 21 points and Josh Magette had a team high seven assists. Sydney’s last match was in round four when they lost to Melbourne by 14 points. Jack Martin top scored with 19 points, scoring 3/5 three pointers.

Cairns Taipans vs S.E Melbourne (Saturday 8:00pm @ at Cairns Convention Centre)
The second placed S.E Melbourne should defeat the fifth placed Taipans. Last week Cairns lost to Perth by 14 points. Captain Majok Deng scored a team high 27 points and Stephen Zimmerman collected an equal match high nine rebounds. The Phoenix’s last match was in round three when they were humbled by the Kings by 11 points. Mitch Creek top scored with 22 points and four three pointers and Zhou Qi took the equal most rebounds with 13.

Illawarra Hawks vs Melbourne United (Sunday 1:00pm @ at WIN Entertainment Centre)
We predict the fourth placed United will defeat the third placed Hawks in an upset. Melbourne are fresh off a four-point win over Tasmania in round fix. Jo Lual-Acuil scored a team high 19 points and eight rebounds. Chris Goulding also continued is good form scoring 24 points including four three pointers. Illawarra’s last match was in round three when they lost to Brisbane by four points. Duop Reath and Harry Froling top scored with 15 points.

Brisbane Bullets vs NZ Breakers (Sunday 3:00pm @ at Nissan Arena)
The sixth placed Bullets should easily be able to account for the bottom placed Breakers. NZ didn’t take the court in round five however in round four they lost to Tasmania by nine points. Jeremiah Martin scored the most points for the match with 24 with two three pointers. Brisbane last played in round three when they lost to the ladder leading Wildcats by 13 points and defeated the Hawks by four points. Robert Franks (16 points) was terrific from beyond the arc with four three pointers while Nathan Sobey top scored for Brisbane in the win with 17 points.

S.E Melbourne vs Tasmania Jack Jumpers (Monday 7:30pm @ at State Basketball Centre)
The second placed Phoenix should defeat the ninth placed Jack Jumpers. In round five Tasmania lost to Melbourne by four points and the Phoenix did not play due to covid-19 complications. In round four Tasmania defeated the bottom placed Breakers by nine points. Josh Adams top scored with 21 points and Josh Magette had a team high seven assists. Tasmania face Sydney on Saturday before their clash with S.E Melbourne. The Phoenix’s last match was in round three when they were humbled by the Kings by 11 points. Mitch Creek top scored with 22 points and four three pointers and Zhou Qi took the equal most rebounds with 13. The Phoenix will face Cairns earlier in round six.

Cairns Taipans vs Brisbane Bullets (Tuesday 7:30pm @ at Cairns Convention Centre)
We predict Cairns to defeat Brisbane, although expect the match to be close. Brisbane haven’t played since round when they lost to the ladder leading Wildcats by 13 points and then defeated the Illawarra Hawks by four points. Robert Franks scored four three pointers on his way to 16 points while Nathan Sobey led the scoring with 17 in the win. Brisbane face NZ on Sunday and before they face Cairns in a match where they will go in as favourites. Last week Cairns lost to Perth by 14 points. Captain Majok Deng scored a team high 27 points and Stephen Zimmerman collected an equal match high nine rebounds. The Taipans will go in as underdogs against the Phoenix on Saturday night before facing the Bullets.
